As a garden subject it has no peer because it's constantly in bloom all season long. The large foliage is polished deep green and goes right up to the neck of the bloom. Under ordinary circumstances, it's one of the cleanest, hardiest, brightest pinks around. Cursed with a myriad of tiny, sharp thorns, which is undoubtedly its only means of protecting its fragrant blooms.
